Selznick, David O(liver)
(10 may. 1902, Pittsburgh, Pa., EE.UU.–22 jun. 1965, Hollywood, Cal.).

Productor de cine estadounidense. Aprendió el oficio con su padre, un ejecutivo cinematográfico, y en 1926 se mudó a Hollywood. Trabajó para MGM, RKO y otros estudios y produjo películas como Cena a las ocho (1933), King Kong (1933), David Copperfield (1935) e Historia de dos ciudades (1935). En 1936 formó su propia compañía, Selznick International, y fue productor de éxitos como Ha nacido una estrella (1937). Fue fundamental en el enorme suceso de Lo que el viento se llevó (1939), al supervisar en forma cabal todas las facetas de la producción a través de memorándums. Trasladó a Alfred Hitchcock a EE.UU. y produjo Rebeca (1940) y Recuerda (1945). También produjo Duelo al sol (1946), El tercer hombre (1949) y Adiós a las armas (1957), que fueron protagonizadas por su segunda esposa, Jennifer Jones.
